The NewRetirement team is passionate about helping retirees navigate
the transition to retirement.
We have worked at leading financial services firms like Charles Schwab
and J.P. Morgan, built financial services systems in use by Fortune 100
companies and started another successful Internet company that focuses
on life transitions. However, the idea for NewRetirement did not come
about until after we helped our own parents put together their retirement
plans.
Most of our parents did not adequately prepare for their retirement
living expenses. It was a source of great stress for them so we intervened
to help create a household budget and retirement income/expense forecast.
Their situations looked dismal – especially considering the many retirement
issues that most retirees are not even aware of - but our background in
financial services and retirement planning enabled us to identify many
strategies to help them have a more financially secure future.
Once we began to search for information, we could not find a website that
had good comprehensive information covering retirement planning subjects.
We were looking for an integrated and unbiased source of retirement information
on-line, a place that would facilitate helping the average American household
optimize for retirement by providing free, comprehensive information presented
in an impartial way.
Not finding one, we chose to create NewRetirement.com. NewRetirement today is a
foundation upon which we will realize a larger vision of being an advocate for
retirees and seniors by providing education, services, decision support systems,
