QUESTION:
Adult Child moving and needs advice on everything.
I am 28, but collect both SSI, SSA, and have Medicare and Medicaid. I have my own benefits that are paid to me, and I also draw Adult Child benefits from my Dad. I am inheriting a house from my Mother, now that my stepfather has died. It is not part of his estate, Mom just wants to get rid of some extra properties. I will be moving into this house as soon as my lease is up at my current apartment. It has taken SSA around 2 years to finally get all of my information updated and correct, so my main question is how do I report the move, and explain to them that yes I have a house, but it is going to be my permanent address, as well as my permanent dwelling, so they don't count it as income for the rest of my lease? How do I move my health insurance, and how do I find resources in my new community to help with things once I get settled? I am moving FROM Houston, TX- TO Prattville, AL.
