QUESTION:

Alimony payments

After exactly 10 years, wife divorced me and obtained maintenance award for herself as our children were infants and I lost custody of them. She was 38 years of age and I was 45 years of age when divorce decree was issued. She is accountant/bookkeeper and I'm teacher. I will retire this year when at age 68 and she age 62. I've never interrupted payments to her for over 22 years. She has full ownership of our house worth approximately one million dollars as divorce decree awarded her this asset. Kids are M.D.s ages 28,30
respectively and live independently of either parents. She has never stopped work and won't remarry so as to share her award with a newer spouse... How may I stop my blood letting of this LOUSE when I retire this year?

This is outside my realm of knowledge. It seems like you might want to consult a lawyer to see if the terms of your divorce might be altered when you retire or by your and your former spouses current financial situation.
