Rehabilitation exercise resources and costs | | I recently had a stent and an angioplast procedure. That is being followed by the hospital's rehab program which includes a monitored exercise program, which is terrific, and class discussions on nutrition, medicine, stress management, and emotional well being. I personally think that it is wonderful that Lynchburg General Hospital's Cardiology department has these effective programs in place. Meeting twice a week, it cost about $10 out-of-pocket per session. They also told me that after I graduate from their program, after about 8-12 weeks, that I should continue the program at the local YMCA where they meet 3 times a week and it costs $60 per month. There is a $120 initial charge to join the Y. But, still, over the long haul, this makes fiscal sense -- as well as physical sense. (There is an attempt at humor somewhere in there...) At sixty-eight, which admittedly is kinda late in the game, I've gotten religion when it comes to exercise and nutrition and friendships. | | asked by grandpa24551, 2/2/2007 |
