Hi Theresa, your husband will qualify, but not you because you are not 62 years of age as yet. The only way to get a Reverse mortgage at this time is for you to Quit Claim Deed yourself off the title to the home and then you can get a Reverse Mortgage. I would caution you however, that if you do that, then should your husband pass away, before you are put back on title, you will have to repay the loan. so please be very careful when making that decision. I would suggest you talk to your Attorney about the matter. I have done this for other borrowers who were very desperate, however i insisted that the elder spouse accquire term life insurance equivalent to the loan, in case of death, so that the surviving spouse can get the benefits of the insurance and pay off the loan without any risk of losing the home.

Your permanet disability qualifies you for medicare. Your age does not
qualify for a reverse mortgage. You have to be 62 to qualify for the reverse
mortgage. Sorry, you will just have to wait about three more years.
