QUESTION:

SSI and Retirement

I receive SSI from Social Security. This coming January [2009] I turn 62 years old and I am continplating filing for early Retirement. The money I receive from SSI is the only money that I have each month to live on. I am disabled but do not qualify for any disability payments because of not having the required earned quarters in the ten years prior to filing. I do qualify for Retirement as I have the required forty quarters that I earned at an earlier age. My question is do I still receive My SSI money , or part of it , in addition to what I will be receiving from Retirement. My estimated Retirement check will be approximately $650.00 per month. Thank you for any help you maybe able to give Me on this matter.
