Volunteering as a Consultant for folks from Senior Level Positions | The Executive Service Corps offers accomplished professionals a chance to volunteer and give back to the communities in which they live.
Although the website could probably use a refresh, this site had a great client list (Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity are a couple of national level .org's that use their services).

From their website: "The Executive Service Corps Affiliate Network (ESCAN) is a nationwide network of thirty-three nonprofit consulting groups. ESC affiliates are dedicated to improving the quality of life in the communities they serve. They accomplish this mission by providing a variety of high quality, affordable services to nonprofits, schools, and government agencies. These services are performed by volunteer consultants who have had senior level positions in business, government, and nonprofits. These men and women are committed to helping strengthen the management of nonprofit agencies in order that they can more effectively address their missions. The following pages describe the services which ESC affiliates provide, where they are located, and how to get in touch with them."
