Hi Dee Deal,

It depends on what you mean by asking what will happen to your house. If you are asking who will take care of your home, that is something that you will need to arrange before you enter the A.L.V.

Considering the cost of an average A.L.V. is $30,000.00 annually, and there can be hefty entrance fees as well, some people sell their home and use the proceeds to pay for the facilities costs. If you plan on keeping the home and you want someone to professionaly manage your proerty, contacting a realestate management company in your area would be a great idea. If you don't want a company to manage your home for you while you are away, there are other options like having the conservator of your estate take care of it or establishing a trust and mandating that the trustee's look after your home.

Then there is the question of your estate and what your wishes are for it when you pass. Issues of division, probate and taxation are areas you need to take into consideration. Meeting with a local professional who specializes in estate planning and elder law would be in your best interest.
