You are probably looking for responses from someone who does actually summer and winter in two houses... which I don't. But, I couldn't help but respond anyway.I could not imagine maintaining two seperate households. However, I could imagine renting something long term (a month or two). If I considered my winter place to be more of a vacation home it would seem less daunting. My husband on the other hand might love having two houses... and so we are discussing it. Questions we are asking ourselves include:- What would we do with the unoccupied house? How easy would it be to rent out? Where would we keep our own stuff? Etc...- Could family visit with us in both places?- Cost is a big factor, of course... Not to mention taxes, etc...Anyway -- Wishing you lots of fun wherever you are Summer or Winter.
Enjoy the full and busy social life in Florida every winter. Then enjoy coming back to NY for intellectual challenges.Plan to keep both homes for as long as it is financially feasible. Fully expect future inflation will cause me to sell one of them. Until then it is enjoyable having a winter home down south..
