    I get ret navy since 87 with cola it's up to 1,500+ per month. I get disability sn $1,300+ per month And Wife gets $550+per month.Moble Home payment $325.00 ,Electric Between $150.00 and $250.00 per month.WE own our 2 Vans 06 and 04 . WE pay $100.00 for each van every 3 months ,max coverage, $100.00 deductabile. $50.00 internet , 19.00 home phone.$63.00 cell phone .We have well, so no water charge.around $300.00 food bill.

    It sounds like your monthly income adds up to $3,350 -- with more than half of it having COLA protection. And your current expenses add up to about $1,275. So, it appears that you have a very good financial situation for retirement. One trick to a secure retirement is to keep your expenses under your income and to be able to keep pace with inflation!

    However, you did not mention any health related expenses. Out of pocket healthcare costs can be extremely high -- especially if you or your wife were to ever require long term care.
