• Question
  • Retired widower looking for last life partner.

    Asked on 10/16/2012

I'm a retired former executive, and live in a predominately rural area. I've tried several of the "singles" sites and to no avail. I've tried eHarmony, senior people meet, and several free sites. I find that nearly 75% of their subscribers are still employed and have no intentions of retiring. I would really like to find a site just for "Retired people" at least 65 and up. Where can I go? Thank you for any help you can give me.

  • I am sorry that you are having a difficult time finding online dating and matchmaking sites for retired people.

We at NewRetirement are mostly focused on the financial aspects of retirement, but I am happy to offer you some additional resources to help your pursuit of a life partner! And, apparently you are not alone in your search for someone to share your life -- Time Magazine recently reported that their over 50 demographic is the fastest growing group on most dating sites. So, your options should be increasing everyday.

First, the site Third Age has a whole section devoted to dating. You might find some interesting information and resources there: http://www.thirdage.com/dating

Secondly, have you been able to fully use the searching and sorting and matchmaking functions of the dating sites. You should be able to search for people who state their occupation as "retired" or limit your search to people of a certain age. Also, be sure to make it very clear in your profile that you only want to meet people who are not working.

Here are a few additional general dating sites:

Here are a few sites dedicated to retired people:
I can not vouch for any of these sites specifically, but hopefully the list is useful to you.

We wish you all the best! We would love to hear back from you if any of these sites help you find a relationship for your golden years!

  • Hi Ron,
Its rather difficult to find a true person as on the paying dating websites these people masquerade and use many other websites as well.
Even with free websites one has to be careful.
One has to be extremely cautious as to who they respond to.
I retired at the end of last year 2016 and have found so much to do to in my day, but it would be rather nice to share with someone else.
I have so many hopes, dreams and visions which I'd like ta share with someone and make memories.
    I hope you've found happiness?
If not, please feel free to respond.
    Kindest regards.
