    Our calculator runs both pessimistic and optimistic scenarios which use different assumptions (which you can see if you follow the "Assumptions" links in the NewRetirement Calculator https://www.newretirement.com/retirement-calculator/default.aspx )

    In a pessimistic scenario (lower investment returns, higher inflation and higher health care costs) - we estimate you could run out of money earlier.
